The addition of herbs and spices to your meal may not just improve the flavour of your favourite dish. Some herbs and spices have long been recognized as important allies in the battle against obesity and excessive visceral fat. The seasonings that are used across the world are no longer exotic and hard to find. We are now able to take advantage of this ever-shrinking world and find benefit in spices that can help us keep in good physical health.

Many helpful spices can aid in weight loss.

Of course, you cannot use these spices to undo bad nutrition and overindulgence on junk food. Kentucky Fried Chicken is famous for having a specially formulated mix of herbs and spice in their meals, but if these beneficial ingredients are deep-fried. Then the health benefits would be a lost and your levels of flab would be either increased or unchanged. 
These herbs and spices can offer us help in reducing our waistlines in cooperation with a balanced and nutritious diet.



1/ Cumin.

Cumin is a spice with metabolism-boosting properties and it is also believed to promote weight loss. Recent studies in the United States have proved its beneficial impact on laboratory-based tests.  Cumin is naturally high in iron which helps to keep the blood supply oxygenated. Many people who take on extreme diets tend to lack this important mineral and many who do not take supplements often suffer from anaemia. Iron is important for the blood and in maintaining a healthy body. 

When cumin is used in combination with other spices, particularly in a curry. The spice can act as a cleansing agent that promotes many positive health benefits.
As well as being a good source of iron. Cumin helps those suffering from indigestion. Cumin aids digestion by increasing the activity of digestive proteins. It may also reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). Cumin is also thought to help people who suffer from diabetes by assisting in regulating blood sugars and mitigating some of the longer-term effects of the disease. 


Cumin is an Asian spice that is used in medicines.


2/Black Pepper.

Black Pepper has long been shown to raise body temperature and increase your metabolism. The chemical compound found in pepper that gives black pepper its easily recognizable taste is believed to help prevent the formation of visceral fat cells. Black pepper is helpful in the digestion process as when eaten, it stimulates the transmission of important signals to the stomach which instructs it to produce hydrochloric acid.

Hydrochloric acid is crucial for the digestion of proteins and solid foods in the stomach. If you are lacking in this acid, you may find yourself bloated and you will be more 'gassy' than normal. A lack of hydrochloric acid can also lead to both indigestion and diarrhoea. Black pepper has also been found to have antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help with the overall health of your digestive system and cell health. Black pepper can easily be added to nearly any savoury dish, including meat-based dishes and wholesome soups.

3/Ginger.

Ginger has been used throughout human history as a spice that has repeatedly been shown to settle the stomach. Ginger also decreases your appetite and increases your metabolism. It is also good for digestion and in many cultures is used as a remedy for indigestion. 

Just two grams of ginger can help prevent various types of nausea. This applies to seasickness, nausea after surgery and even morning sickness.
Ginger is considered safe but it is wise to speak with your doctor before taking large amounts if you are pregnant. Some people believe that large amounts of ginger can raise the chances of an expecting mother miscarrying. To date, there is no conclusive or firm evidence to support this theory.




 
As a flavouring, it is excellent in tea and can calm your stomach after stomach distress. Many people who make fruit smoothies add ginger for its spicy and interesting flavour. for a nice, spicy flavour in fruit smoothies. Ginger is often used on root vegetables such as carrots. 

There you are, three spices that aid your stomach and metabolism. Some of these spices can really help with weight loss as part of a balanced diet.
