The father of modern medicine Hippocrates recognized the medicinal qualities of all types of vinegar in the age of antiquity. This is the same ancient physician that gave his name to the Hippocratic Oath, that cements the trust between doctor and patient by committing the medical practitioners to 'do no harm' to those in their care.

So far, science has yet to fully prove many of the claims associated with apple cider vinegar. Because it is a cureall and has been for many years, a serious investigation into its properties is hardly ever undertaken. Perhaps the scientific community are happy to classify it as an ancient folk remedy that will not be profitable to them as they embark on their latest research program.

Some swear by using apple cider vinegar mixed with water as a mouthwash. When the mixture is moved about the mouth, it can reduce bad breath and improve oral hygiene. 

Its effects are noticeable and instant, but you must be sure not to take apple cider vinegar neat into your mouth. 

The high acidity in the vinegar could easily erode your tooth enamel and any unnoticed cuts in your mouth will become very painful due to the acid penetrating into delicate tissues.

If you’re planning on indulging in a meal that could upset or aggravate your stomach. You could try one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with one teaspoon of honey in a glass-topped up with some warm water before you dine. This home remedy is very effective at allowing good digestion of foods that can often prove stubborn for delicate stomachs.

It can lower cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Scientific studies involving rodents have shown vinegar’s beneficial contribution to lowering cholesterol and easing the readings in those who suffer from higher blood pressure

There is currently no concrete evidence that it has the same impact upon humans but it can be expected that future research will continue in this area.



It can soothe a sore throat.

There are many natural remedies for sore throats such as salt-water gargling and the use of honey. Using apple cider vinegar is another great way to alleviate this troublesome condition. 

If you were to mix 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with warm water and gargle every hour. You would find the discomfort lessen and you could go about your day without much more concern for the ailment.
